ATLANTA, Ga. (February 26, 2026) – Aspire Law, a remote-first transactional law firm committed to redefining success in the legal industry by offering meaningful work without the burden of high billable hour requirements, is proud to announce that R.J. Inawat—a highly respected entertainment attorney—will join the firm as Partner, effective March 1. In this strategic move, R.J.’s solo practice will be integrated into Aspire Law, further expanding the firm’s expertise in entertainment, media and creative industry legal services.

With a vibrant academic and professional career spanning music, performing arts and law, R.J. Inawat brings a wealth of industry prowess to Aspire Law. His practice focuses on entertainment law, soft intellectual property (copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets), contract law, and business formation and governance. R.J.’s multifaceted experience includes venue management, artist booking, record label A&R, radio marketing, live-event and theatrical production, talent management, music and product licensing, and comic book publishing.

Previously, R.J. provided outside general counsel to Oni Press, supporting the award-winning comic book publisher’s day-to-day publishing, rights acquisition, content licensing and distribution efforts; as well as in-house legal counsel at both Music Dealers, supporting music licensing for advertising, television, film and gaming, and The Bradford Exchange, where he managed global intellectual property licensing for artists and brands.

“We’re thrilled to welcome R.J. to Aspire Law,” said Founding Partner Alina Lee. “His deep entertainment industry experience, practical approach to practicing and passion for supporting creative professionals aligns with our commitment to an excellent client experience and award-winning firm culture.”

R.J. holds both a Bachelor of Music in performing arts management and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University, where he also serves as an adjunct professor at the School of Music, teaching legal issues in the music industry to undergraduates and advising the student-run Blue Demon Records. He also performs as a classical pianist throughout Chicagoland.

“I’m so excited to join Aspire Law and help build on the firm’s strong foundation and contribute to its continued success,” said R.J. about his new affiliation with Aspire Law.  “My mission has always been to provide high-quality guidance and assistance to the creative community, and by joining the deeply talented attorneys at Aspire Law, my current and future clients will also receive excellent collaborative support and resources so they can continue to focus on what they do best: create art.”
