Aspire Law is celebrating its 5th anniversary!

Aspire Law is celebrating its 5th anniversary! It’s incredible how far we’ve journeyed together.

In the last five years, we’ve gone from me working on my own to a team of 13. We also have over 250 clients, including almost ten Fortune 1000-sized companies.

I am incredibly thankful to:

  • my husband, Alex Meier, for being my biggest supporter and for encouraging me to start my firm
  • my amazing team, Allison Bazinet, David Bennett, Susan Bunch, Katerina Velanova, Kendall Carter, Charlotte Salomon, Stevie Conway, Daniela De Alba, Alexis Chan Lim, Claudette Entera, and Ayven Dodd for your hard work through our ups and downs
  • my amazing clients who believe in me and trust in the team I’ve built
  • my therapists, Dr. Adrienne Harrison Berry and Kolby Sanchez for helping me stay healthy mentally and emotionally
  • my dear friends and family for their love and encouragement
  • my business coach, Tim Fulton, for guiding me and encouraging me to keep going on my toughest days
  • my friends at the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA) and EO Atlanta
  • the many others who have mentored me and supported me

It takes a village! I am so fortunate and appreciative to everyone who has helped me and my firm in the last five years.

With your help, I’ve created something amazing — a law firm that’s:

  • National Recognition: Named in the Chambers USA Spotlight Guide for Georgia as one of only four firms in ranked in their “Corporate/Commercial” category—a testament to our sophisticated practice and the high caliber of our attorneys.
  • Wellbeing Matters: Ranked Top 5 “Healthiest Employers” for two consecutive years by the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s, reflecting our real commitment to work/life balance and a healthy workplace.
  • People-First Culture: Our attorneys rate their experience at Aspire Law 9.14 out of 10. We listen, we adapt, and we invest in our team’s professional and personal growth. When our attorneys feel cared for, they do their best work for our clients.
  • Pride in Our Work: Our client satisfaction rating (9.6/10) reflects the pride our team takes in delivering practical and efficient business-focused legal solutions.
  • Growth & Momentum: Honored with the “Pacesetters Award” as one of Atlanta’s fastest-growing small businesses in 2024 and 2025 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

When I started my firm, I did not think I would get to where I am today. I certainly didn’t think I’d get here as quickly (and joyfully!) as I have.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Leading Under Pressure: Keys to Thriving When the Heat Is On

Leadership isn’t just about steering the ship when the sun is shining, it’s about navigating through storms with grace and determination. Here’s how you can be an exceptional leader, even when stress is at its peak:

  • Plan for Every Scenario

Whether it’s the good, the bad, or the ugly, have a roadmap ready. Preparation gives you the power to respond, not just react.

  • Stay Calm, Cool & Collected

Your team takes cues from you. Even when things get hectic, your composure is your biggest asset.

  • Be the Love & Light

Positivity is contagious. Offer support, listen deeply, and lift others up. A little encouragement goes a long way, especially in tough times.

  • Handle ‘Fires’ Quickly & Quietly

Don’t let small issues become big dramas. Tackle problems promptly and discreetly to maintain momentum.

  • Praise in Public, Protest in Private

Celebrate wins widely, but handle constructive feedback in private. Respect and empathy build loyalty and trust.

In the end, leadership under stress is less about control and more about connection. Show up for your people and watch them show up for you!

Ready to become a master of delegation and reclaim your time?

Here’s the reality: You DON’T need to do it all yourself. High performers and leaders know that effective delegation isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a superpower. If you want to level up, here’s how:

  • Plan for your priorities. Know what really matters, focus on your biggest impact areas.
  • Protect your time. Budget 1-2 hours each day for yourself—be it hobbies, rest, or recharging your creative energy.
  • Only keep what matters most. Do what you must and what you love—delegate the rest.
  • Use the 70% Rule. If someone can do a task at least 70% as well as you, it’s time to delegate! Let go of perfection and empower your team to shine.
  • Rest is non-negotiable. You aren’t a robot. Giving yourself space to reset isn’t selfish—it’s necessary for long-term success.

Remember: Delegation isn’t just about offloading. It’s about smartly distributing work to maximize impact—and safeguarding your energy to lead stronger.

What’s your biggest challenge with delegation?

Want to boost your team’s engagement and accountability?

Here’s a powerful approach from Liz Wiseman’s Multipliers that can transform your leadership style.

Too often, leaders fall into the trap of micromanaging or making all the decisions themselves, which can stifle creativity and ownership. But what if you shifted the balance of control to your team?

Multipliers teaches us to give team members 51% control over decisions that directly affect their work. This slight majority empowers them to take ownership and feel truly accountable for outcomes.

Here are some practical steps to make this work:

  • Set clear goals by asking thoughtful questions and posing meaningful challenges instead of dictating tasks. This helps your team define success on their own terms while aligning with broader objectives.
  • Regularly check progress using scorecards and 1:1 meetings. These aren’t about policing but about supporting and removing obstacles.
  • Invite honest feedback from your team—ask them to tell you when you’re micromanaging or offering too much input. This builds trust and shows you respect their expertise.

Leadership isn’t about controlling every move; it’s about empowering others to lead themselves. When you give your team the freedom to make decisions and hold themselves accountable, engagement soars and innovation flourishes.

How do you strike the balance between accountability and autonomy in your team? What strategies have worked best for you?

Creating an inspiring workplace means embracing mistakes

One of the most powerful leadership lessons from Liz Wiseman’s Multipliers is the importance of fostering a culture where mistakes are not feared but seen as essential stepping stones to growth and innovation.

Here’s what Multipliers teaches us:
  • Ask for your team’s best work without fear of failure. When people aren’t paralyzed by the possibility of making mistakes, they bring their boldest ideas forward.
  • Let your team know that mistakes are okay, as long as they learn from them. This mindset encourages experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Acknowledge your own mistakes openly and honestly. When leaders model vulnerability, it builds trust and shows that imperfection is part of the journey.

This approach doesn’t just reduce fear—it builds trust, fuels creativity, and encourages bold problem-solving that can lead to breakthrough results.

How are you creating a safe space for your team to take risks and grow? What practices have helped you build a culture where mistakes are embraced as opportunities?

Great leaders don’t have all the answers—they ask the best questions

Great leaders don’t have all the answers—they ask the best questions.

Liz Wiseman’s Multipliers introduces a transformative leadership mindset: be a “debate maker,” not a decision maker.

Instead of rushing to provide answers, great leaders create space for their teams to engage deeply with issues by:
  • Presenting clear, well-defined challenges that need solving
  • Sparking diverse, evidence-based debates that bring multiple perspectives to the table
  • Encouraging team members to flip-flop opinions and challenge assumptions—because growth happens when ideas are tested
  • Leading by asking thoughtful questions rather than handing out solutions

This approach does more than just solve problems. It builds confidence, fosters accountability, and ignites innovation across the team. When people feel heard and challenged, they step up and own their work in new ways.

How do you encourage healthy debate and diverse perspectives in your team? What techniques have you found effective in turning discussions into breakthroughs?

Aspire Law has successfully graduated from the NMSDC CyberPro Training Network

I’m delighted to share that Aspire Law has successfully graduated from the NMSDC CyberPro Training Network – and a special shoutout to Stevie Conway for leading the way and completing the course!
The NMSDC CyberPro Training Network is a 10-week course made for small and medium-sized businesses. It helps participants learn how to create strong and organized cybersecurity programs to protect against cyber-attacks. Here are a few takeaways from the Cyber Security course:
      • Small businesses are at just as much risk as large companies.
Hackers often target smaller companies, assuming they haven’t taken proper cybersecurity measures.
      • Activate double-factor authentication wherever possible.
Use the free security features built into your technology tools—they’re there for a reason.
      • Put security training front and center.
Regularly send out test phishing emails. Follow up with anyone who doesn’t report them—education is key!
      • Keep your systems up to date.
Software updates often contain crucial security patches—don’t ignore them!
      • Build a culture of Cyber Security Awareness.
Recognize and celebrate team members who catch phishing attempts. When cyber safety is a team priority, everyone wins.
Cybersecurity isn’t just a box to check—it’s an ongoing mindset. We’re proud of Stevie for bringing back these new skills and knowledge to help elevate Aspire Law’s digital safety!

Are you a Multiplier or a Diminisher?

Liz Wiseman’s book Multipliers reveals a powerful truth about leadership that can transform how we work with our teams:
  • A Multiplier leader can unlock 2 to 100 times the productivity of their team.
  • A Diminisher, on the other hand, may only get 20-50% of a team member’s total effort, often without even realizing it.
Here’s the surprising part—it’s NOT about IQ, technical skill, or being the smartest person in the room. It’s about how you lead.

So, how can we each be a Multiplier?
  • Discover what your team does best and let them shine in their natural strengths.
  • Remove obstacles and bottlenecks that slow them down, whether it’s excessive approvals or unclear processes.
  • Give your team space and trust instead of micromanaging details.
When leaders step back, inspire, and empower, magic happens. Teams become more engaged, creative, and productive.

How are you multiplying the potential of your team today? What leadership habits have made the biggest difference?

Feeling exhausted? Here are 3 tips.

Regain your energy with these helpful tips.

  •  Give yourself time to rest and recover

Days off are meant for recovery, but if your weekends are filled with taking care of your kids, elderly, or someone sick, you may be starting your week more drained than you anticipate. Carve out time the following day to give yourself some needed R&R, so you’ll be more energized the rest of the week.

  • Do what makes you happy

Need a mood booster? Add an activity you enjoy doing. Whether it’s making sure you get alone time as an introvert or meeting up with a friend as an extrovert, you’ll find an extra boost of energy after resting with purpose.

  •  Sleep and exercise

Both are important, but if you are pressed for time and can only choose one, here’s a quick guide to help you decide.

Check your tendencies (you’ll often choose it without much thought) and ask yourself some quick questions:

  1. Will training help you sleep better tonight?
  2. Will skipping this workout make you feel more rested and stronger?
  3. Any injuries, aches, pain, fatigue, or feeling run down?

The more you pay attention to your body, the more you’ll know what your body really needs to feel better.
